I've got a 1980 931 thats got a fluttering in the idle. Found the throttle body has an air leak through the throttle body itself. Specifically through the top and bottom of the two bolts that go through the air flaps.
I live in the San Francisco, California and was wondering if anyone had any ideas where I could get my throttle body rebuilt or where I could get a rebuild kit for my throttle body. Tried reaching out to a specific shop out in Georgia and they mentioned they were unable to do the rebuild or provide kits.

Not an easy job. It never had seals there in the first place. It relied on a close fit between the bushing and shaft. You will have to replace the bushings... first find the correct ones. If your shafts are worn, it's game over - need a new TB.
You should seriously consider whether it's a large enough leak to be worth worrying about as this job is an absolute rabbit hole. |

I mean I've only been concerned about it cause I've had the car here in California unregistered for about 2 years now cause I haven't been able to get it to pass the Smog Inspection...The air leak is pretty significant, I've made sure to address every other before hand as well. I've also had a hard time finding any clean used ones and one of few that I did find had the same issue of an air leak in the exact same two points on the throttle body. |

I may have 1 or 2 replacement throttle body I can check for you.
I also may have everything needed to convert to S2 round type (intake manifold, throttle body and charge tube). The round throttle body are easy to rebuild and rebuild kit are easy to find (same as 944).
Let me know if you are interest in any and I will dig in my part bins.
