I thought they were supposed to also have some sort of strengthened gearsets from shotpeening or cryo treatment and be setup for an oil cooler also..
Or maybe that was the GTS and higher trannies.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

CGT had ZF plate type LSD as stock with uprated gear set, synchros and crown wheel. No idea if outer casing is same as turbo or if numbers will aid telling you what’s inside is CGT. Turbo boxes with an LSD had a /12 after the gearbox serial number. Some history would be helpful as the plates in the LSD will wear over time and use and new plate pack may be needed. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

CGT did not come stock with LSD (mine didn't have it), but it was an option as with all snailshells, and indicated by /12 after the serial number. I can't see the link at Pelican (site appears to be down?), but the case must be number G31.50 in order to be a CGT box (from memory, ROW = G31.01, US = G31.02). _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
