FYI, I finally hunted down the part #, I think, for the airbox straps. If I'm not mistaken, the part # is 928 110 363 01 (2 per car, of course). If I'm correct, I'll have them in a little over an hour. If I'm wrong, I'll have some parts for the 928 guys...

I replaced mine once years ago - pretty expensive I thought. Now I just use a couple of tarp bungees from Home Depot. They come in a plastic jar labelled "Canopy Tarp Ties - Bungee Straps" - (10) 12" cords per jar. I'm pretty sure I have a lifetime supply here in the one jar. Won't be attending any concours competitions though. The bright orange balls on the ends stick out like toucan gonads. Hmmm... do toucans even have gonads? I need to watch more PBS...

If you can see a Toucans gonads you might want to pull your head out of his butt.
Talk about tailgating

...just keep watching PBS and The Discovery Channel. You can bet that sooner or later they'll shove a camera up one of those poor fellas.
On the cords - I tied new knots about 2" up from the originals to make them about 9" long and hold tighter. |

Heh heh heh... asswipes...
Got the straps today, they're a perfect fit and brand new OEM parts. Superseded to part # 911.110.365.01 - appears to be a 73-77 911 air box strap.
Too bad neither car runs! 82 is torn apart still getting the battery box done (back burnered due to racing). 81 is not running right, seems to be missing on #1, can't see why.
Seems confused at Tweeks, many different applications, but they're all around $6-10USD.
