Big thanks to Dan for hosting us Saturday morning! Though bummer to have just missed the Friday meet... just a matter of bad timing.

I stopped by with a few crew/friends, for a combination social visit, parts pickup, and salvage wrenching.

Got the farm tour, said hi to the donkeys, ponies, and sheep... and cocks... (oh, wait, those came with me... LOL)

Rounded up a huge stash of parts to improve my Turbo, most importantly a new gear-reduction starter - can't wait to get that in the car! Plus the fuel rail for the inevitable EFI conversion, center gauge pod for the boost/AFM, and a replacement heater control so I can finally properly manage temps in my car...

Then we went downstairs into the basement of the barn and broke out the sawzalls to attack the 924S shell! Few probably are aware, I managed to stuff my wife's racecar into a concrete wall, with only a light touch rather rearranging the front end, enough to require surgery.

So we had to acquire a replacement front; Dan has a 924S shell he was parting out, and the motor and front suspension were already gone, all the hard work. We set on it like white on rice, removed the fenders, and peeled back all the remaining wiring and plumbing, till there was nothing left but sheetmetal. About 10 min with the sawzall, and the nose was off, and thrown in the back of my minivan for the return trip to Detroit!

Thanks again to Dan, and we'll have to make sure next trip, even if it's without the Turbo, occurs on a Friday meet so we can join the party...

FB won't support cross-posting the pics, but the before and after can be seen here...

I kept wondering what you were up to when I saw the facebook pics

Had I known I could have stopped in at the farm

...and don't worry about showing up on a Friday without a Porsche. I have done it twice now. Letting the 4th Friday experience keep the fire under my butt to get one going
