I took my car for a treat, 4 wheel lazer alignment. The wheels were pointing everywhere, picture the VW Beetle from the film Herbie!! I took it to a garage in Liverpool, http://www.4wheelalignment.co.uk/

Two lazers constantely scan the four targets on the wheels. They do a "before and after" screen shot.

This is an exaggerated picture of where my wheels were pointing.

The front came in a treat. The individual castors were adjusted slightly out to get the cross caster centred. Interestingly, the steel A arms are adjusted for castor by releasing the 4, two on each side, bolts that secure the arm to the chassis and physically moving them. The alloy arm, as I fitted to my car, have the adjusting tabs.

The rear proved to be a pain in the arse. All the bolts were siezed, took the guys a while to get everything moving. The left toe couldn't be adjusted into the green zone because the adjusting bolt would go slack before the correct figure was achieved. To compensate for this as best as possible the thrust angle was set as close to centre as possible. It may be a case of ordering new adjustment bolts and try again. If so the shop said they would do it free of charge! I highly recommend this place to anyone living in the North West of the UK. It's a great feeling driving straight down the road with your steering wheel pointing dead ahead and having a bit of confidence hooling the car into a corner. £65 plus the dreaded VAT. I was there for an hour and a half= BARGIN.

Rear camber adjuster is the only permanently installed "bolt." Toe is adjusted by inserting a special eccentric tool in a different slot in the control arm.

Only a BARGIN if they know what they're doing.

Sorry m8, I'm sure it's better than it was. If they're willing to put it back on the rack for free, buy the toe tool and take it back in.

Here's the tool:

And this pic shows the hole where it is inserted to change toe (far left):

Just to clarify for you marti;
The yellow one labeled "eccentric" is for ride height.
The bolt towards the back of the car, to the upper left of the E in eccentric is for camber, the hole is for the eccentric tool to adjust toe.

All bolts on the arm side of the trailing blade must be loosened to make camber or toe adjustments, no adjustments for camber or toe can be made with a seized bolt.
