a lot depends which part has failed.
same with the ignition boxes, if there is a few to see if it is reparable then it might be worth me building a test rig 4 them. _________________ I KNEW white wall tyres were invented by Americans .....just not at Boeing.... to be fitted on the 737..... |

It's not clear to me from these posts which relay you need.
The various years of 924's have a variety of fuel pump relays that work in different ways, with consequently varying prices. _________________ 78 924 NA

KAE 3.300.300 relay quality is questionable. Few days ago I was driving to ice hockey rehearsal and noticed/heard that some relay started to buzz every time I tried to accelerate and eventually cut out the fuel delivery(?) if the acceleration continued.
Turned out it was the almost new KAE fuel pump relay. Luckily I had a spare one in the glove box. _________________ Mikko

hi tom.
luckily im fine as far as needing one.
i remember a discussion before with you on this subject and you pointed me to a drawing of the relay circuit somewhere on this board, i tried and couldnt find it. but it seems the relay causes a lot of people bother. i think i remember someone saying they are hard to get hold of. what i was wondering is do they fail regulaly? if i could get hold of 5 or 10 faulty relays i might be able to see if it is a common fault, or if there was some weak link in the circuit, there might be a mod that could stop this from happening. if it is a common fault and not the relay machanism then it may be a $2 repair/mod after a bit of work. i would rather keep a few chips spare at a $1 than a relay.
nothing is worse than a car letting you down at the flick of a switch if it can be prevented. i like to be able to know im driving home every time i drive out. a breakdown wagon doesnt seem much fun.
i suppose a carrying a spare relay is a very good idea, but i think if you have a bit of skill, you might be able to make the components that fail pluggable so carrying a few chips that can plug in to the inside of the relay is a better idea at $2, or if we are lucky we might be able to add some protection to the circuit to stop it failing.
i will do another post, asking who has had a fail and how long it is for they had another failure.
really what i could do with is 10 or so faulty relays. _________________ I KNEW white wall tyres were invented by Americans .....just not at Boeing.... to be fitted on the 737..... |
