| So on my 87 924s if I try to start it with the clutch down it just kind of shorts out and then I have to disconnect and reconnect the battery but if I try to start it with the clutch up it starts. I can even start it in gear and it won't stall. Any ideas? Clutch cable maybe? Or is the clutch just too worn |

You don't have a clutch cable, its hydraulic on the the 924S, same as the 944.
I suspect the clutch arm might be shorting on some wiring under the dash or there is an issue with the battery cable to the starter or the main ground under the intake.
Time to dive in and see what's what. _________________ Stefan
