Hey guys I noticed my breather tube from the engine block was all cracked and horrible when working on my car today. I'll be making up some kind of replacement (any ideas) but in the meantime there is some serious buildup of residue around where the breather tube exited the block. Is there a safe way I can clean in there? Thought I'd ask before doing anything as the last thing I want is chemicals or dirt floating around in the block. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 NA |

Danski,
If you clean in there, i.e. spray brake cleaner or something into to clean it you will knock the junk down in to the case and the oil pan...and your oil.
You should be good to go, just change the hose and do an oil change...should be good. The oil change is only if you are worried about parts of the old hose being down there.
Cheers,
