Hello all, I have some questions regarding adaptive carbs for the weber ITB manifold adapter.

Looking at the bolting setup, I am wondering if EMPI Dual 40 HPMX carbs would fit or not.

I am trying to convert mine to carbs as the CIS system has basically rotted the car inside out. I am unsure of other carb companies that look similar to the weber dcoe's, so any help in that department would be great too.

Any help with choices and options for what I can get to convert to carbs would be great. Thank you!

ITB = Individual Throttle Body which are not carburetors.

That said, the Weber DCOE was copied by Dellorto and Mikuni, but only Weber still has parts available for tuning and repair. Lots available though, but make sure they are a matches pair when you buy them.

Read this and if you have further questions, hit us up:

It should be stated that repairing the CIS is about the same money as going to webers and the performance is the same or better since the webers tend to be a bit more pesky and you lose some of the already rare low end torque.

Sorry, I was referencing the manifold adapter posted on ideolas garage that said it was an DCOE style ITB manifold adapter. I understand the issues with the carb conversions, but its a risk I'm willing for as its an antique vehicle which will be used for driving on the weekends.

Is there another adapter for carbs for the 924 that you or anyone else knows of?

The adapter available on my site converts the 924-specific port arrangement to a standard DCOE port and bolt-on interface. As such, it can be used with any DCOE-patterned sidedraft carb setup, or with any DCOE-patterned ITB (independent throttle body) setup. The DCOE pattern is a de facto standard that many carb and ITB vendors have adopted.

The DCOE manifold adpater is (relatively) readily available (special order, usually takes about a week to get). You can buy it individually for an EFI / ITB conversion, or bundled with the 45DCOE or 40DCOE kits on my site.

Over the years, I have seen a handful of one-off manifold adapters for other carb arrangements, including some very bizarre single-throat setups (can you say dog?!). To my knowledge, the DCOE manifold adapter is the only one that was (and still is) a production piece.
