BAE! BAE!
Tiny little Mitsubishi TE04H from one of my old Chrysler 2.5L turbos, it's really too small for that motor, but is more sized for a 2.0L so it should work okay for the low boost levels I'll be shooting for.
Here's the intercooler I'll be using:
It's about the same size as the radiator and shood help cool the charge fairly well. I think it came from an Isuzu or Mitsubishi diesel box truck.
Should be fun! _________________ Stefan

Yes. Yes it is.
Show up to the Portland Historical and I'll let you take it for a spin. _________________ Stefan

Bob's Automotive Engineering actually, but I get where you're coming from
As to the weight question brought up earlier, it isn't really that heavy as the intercooler is all aluminum and the end castings are fairly thin. The turbo manifold is lighter than or similar in weight to a stock manifold and the turbo TINY. Plus my 924 is very light in the front, so a little weight won't hurt it.
I need to get the car scaled before I dig into the turbo conversion to get a before/after with weights of the four corners, just for reference. _________________ Stefan

It's all about doing as much as you can yourself, taking your time, spreading things around and shopping around as muh as possible.
The manifold was found on CL.
Turbo was from my old turbo-dodge days and was rebuilt by me using an inexpensive rebuild kit.
The intercooler was $50 at the Portland Swap Meet.
The ceramic coatings weren't cheap, but worth it given the heat issues I've already had with this car and I put them in with the 951 parts I was already doing.
The exhaust downpipe will be home built and also coated.
Intercooler pipes will be built from scraps of rubber reinforced intake tubes gathered at the pick-n-pull and bits of exhaust pipe, unless I can find some aluminum tubing. This is a common solution for custom intercooler installs in the turbo dodge world and hold up to high boost levels.
Oil and water lines will be home made using Earl's hose. Radiator hose adapters will be used to provide water cooling for the center section.
The radiator needs to be rebuilt, so another core or two will be added to compensate, but a 944 or 951 rad could be used with some adaptation. Depends on pricing and availability.
The other option is to rebuild the bottom end to increase compression. That would be more expensive and not as fast.
The chassis and Top end has been prepped already, so why not make use of that work? _________________ Stefan

I would like to, but not going to pull the lump for another rebuild for a couple more weeks. If did get it done, there's a DE in Phoenix that weekend, much, much, much, closer~! _________________ '83 944 Track car.
