You know the glue that held the bubble wrap under the hood, the glue is all over, I'm thinking Goo Gone, but anything else? This stuff is really old.

Nothing works very good. I used gas with 2 stroke oil but I did a complete strip and repaint. I think Mr. billygoat is on the right track, solvent such as acetone lacquer thinner, gasoline just turns it into a gooey mess. I would try some WD40 to break the adhesion. Also here is a long shot, after all the foam is scraped off put a piece of sticky tape on it and see I that will pull it off.

I know on lotus cars where they use ultra sticky double sided tape people usually recommend bug and tar remover stuff from Auto Glym and the like.

I did not tell him to say this. I was hoping Rasta would.

Before

Almost after, going to work on it some more tomorrow.

I used a rag at first, but after a lot of useless scrubbing, I gave up and went and found this. I use these to clean gaskets off of blocks, worked pretty good. I just sprayed some Goo Gone for a cleaner where I was working on and a little a head to let it soak and it seems to be working pretty good. I might end up just repainting it eventually, well see.
