Hello all,

I'm trying to sort out a tyre/ wheel issue and I've been frantically reading the older posts today. After all the reading I'm still not 100% sorted about the specifications of the standard turbo spider wheels that are still on my car.

My understanding of spider spec:
Wheel diameter: 15 inch
Wheel width: 6 inch
Offset: 52.3 mm (or 2 1/16 inch)

Does the offset I'm using include the spacer found at the rear, or does that add another 25mm? (which would then need to be removed for the front??)

Thoughts on whether 987 wheels as follow would fit standard 931 (euro):
Front: 17x6.5 with offset 55
Rear: 17x8 with offset 40mm

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Spider webs are 6x15 ET52.3
Rear spacers are 21mm
There are no front spacers, at least not from the factory.

Spider web + 21mm spacer = effective offset of 31.3mm

987 fittment:
For the fronts: The 17x6.5 ET55 will stick out 3mm more(thats just fine) however it will give you 9mm less cleareance between the wheel and the suspension. I think 9mm is fine but you'd have to measure the actual setup.

For the rears: The 17x8 ET40 will stick out 37mm more than the old wheel(this if you didnt have a spacer on the old rear wheel) and it will give you 9mm less cleareance on the inside(thats fine)
If you have a rear spacer(you probably do) remove it and then put on the boxster wheel and that will only stick out 16mm more than the old wheel with the spacer and that should be just fine if you use 205 or 225 tires for the rears.

Morghen,

Thanks so much for your reply, it really helped clarify what is going on.

Now to make the decision.
