always intrigued by these. anyone know what colour this is? I have read that 20 were made by Artz. Anyone know if those 20 came from the 406 GTs made or were they 931s modified? I dig the yellow "french delivery" fogs....oh, and the nice Auburn Phaeton in the background.

I'm not aware of the exact colour code but it was a
hint to the original Aston Martin DB5 shootingbrake.
It will blend in nicely out in the field/wood and
the red carpet in the rear is self explanatory
During the rebuilding proces of these 177hp turbo's he addepted
the aggressive CGT look for obvious reasons…
Wider wheels, weight saving, catching your eyes etc.
Non of the shootingbrake interieurs show resemblence to that of the 924 CGT's.
Another myth down?

ahh...petrol blue. Looks great with the CGT look. you heading to Hershey this year emoore?
Harm, do you get the show "Myth Busters" in Europe?
we can have a show just dedicated to all of the 924 Myths. funny US magazines of the 1980's (who remembers VW & Porsche magazine by Argos publishers??) claimed he built it off of a carrera, but you are right interior looks standard. Got to love the red carpeting!! I wonder if he just bought body panels or splashed copies from fiberglass????
speeking of Myths...do you know anything about this GTS? it was auctioned off by Christies at LeMans a few years back (no sale at 65k usd) and was perported to be a documented prototype. Standard vin 93A0150562. a few notes on it, outside vw fuel filler, non-flush mounted windshield.

what makes it a GTS? looks like a GT with GTS headlights.
-it has the GT rear flares
-the side skirts are strange...they look like they are metal...
-no GTS windows
-looks like GT rear spoiler _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Yep, two very inspiring chaps, but I don't spend much time watching telly
They were awarded an honorary doctorate by one of our universities.

Yes, that would be the GTS prototype, plate number BB P 693
…What differs of the old Porsche prototype are the hood pins
Any pics of what's under the hood?
…its all in the horsepower guys,
I thought you guys knew that
Cheers, Harm.
ps. Correct that insinuating topic title on the double _________________ Porsche 924 NA 1982 LY7A/A3A3 _ Greater driving pleasure never harmed anyone. |

| its like Harm said...its what's under the hood that counts. This one is a prototype/test mule so it does not have the same attributes as the production cars. There is so much....I guess you can say "wrong" about it when you compare it to a production GTS or even a GT...but in the world of test mules and protypes it doesn't matter. Porsche just took what they had off the shelf, when they had it, plucked a standard turbo off the production line...threw GT fenders on it, GTS engine etc. etc. |

That's not red carpeting, its a red blanket laid across the rear of the car. There are other pics of this car at the same show on the same day with this blanket in the back. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Noted.
Next to all black I've seen brown interieurs in ARTZ's Shooting Break.
I could have misread the red part back then.
The DP Cargo does use red, all over, but doesn't count as a 924. _________________ Porsche 924 NA 1982 LY7A/A3A3 _ Greater driving pleasure never harmed anyone. |

| ahh. I had visions of a martini-style red interior...which btw would look good with the petrol blue in my opinion. |

Correcto! that's Porsche being groovy
Pretty wild imagining the exterieur color is mother of pearl.
Apperantly she's still living at Porsche. …minus the snorkel scoop
