an interesting thought I just had. I love those recaros, and I can source a set real cheap from a friend.

What I want to know, has anyone put these in a 924 with any success? What would it entail, other that rearranging the seat chassis itself?
How did it sit, and flow with the car?

I am curious to see this mod if it has been done

The 924/944 uses the same seats/seat bolt patterns as the 911 of the period.

Don't know if that helps or not, but its an interesting tidbit of information that might help ya (in case someone put 911 seats in their VW, perhaps you could reverse the installation path, etc)

I shall check that out, thanks

My GUESS would be that it is doable. At very least, it shouldn't take much work to adapt and it will look darn good too.

This might help:

http://forums.kilometermagazine.com/showthread.php?4935140-89-GTI-Jelxa-golf-from-Spain&p=66417451

This guy put Porsche seats in his Golf using Sparco adapter brackets.

Corbeau brackets are available for the 911/944/924 that might get you close enough that you may only need to drill a few holes in the correct spots

Other than it being slammed to the ground, that GTI is ultra nice. I find that project interesting because someone stole the seats out of my 931 (long story) and now I need new seats. I've been looking at Audi or BMW seats and I'm well aware I will need to make my own brackets.. Though I haven't thought about using adapter brackets from Sparco or another aftermarket company..

I have the stock seats from my 924, the bottoms are split, but the black vinyl is in otherwise decent shape. Yours for free if you'd like them as I'd like them out of my garage

When I put the racing seats in my car, I found that they were the right width to bolt the tracks to the floor and the side mounts to the seats.

Thanks for the offer, I just might have to take you up on that.
