My old '79 toofah will hopefully soon get a new paint job. I don't mind the old silver color and I'm sure it would look better when it is fresh. The original is the diamond metallic silver, but I am looking at changing it to the pearl coat. The pearl has the micro flakes of mica that really add that shine, but I would like to know from anyone if they are happy with a newer coat of the metallic silver. I saw a picture of a '65 Vette with silver pear that was awesome! It's paint code is QQ. Anyway, I can get a Maaco paint job and not worry about the engine bay or door sills. Any thoughts?
Here is the Vette picture....

do it right and take all the trim off. if your car is silver now, you probably don't need to worry so much about the engine bay, but I would definitely have the door jambs / sills and the rear hatch area done, especially if you're going with a slightly different color or finish.
