My fan wheel fell off. Before I go jacking the car up and removing the shroud and fan motor, what holds the fan wheel on? _________________ 1982 Porsche N/A |

Not sure what you mean by "fan wheel"...
There are three components to make up the fan assembly: the shroud, the fan blades and the motor (sometimes two blades/motors). The fan is held to the motor with a springie circlip on the motor shaft. The fan motor is held to the shroud with four bolts I believe. And the shroud is held to the back of the radiator with a number of bolts (not sure how many...)
If the blades fell off the motor, you might be able to finagle a new spring clip on there but I'd take it all off and bench repair it. Never seen the blades fall off so suspicious something else is wrong... |

Thanks. The fan literally fell off. Upon visual inspection w/o removing anything the issue is just the fan. The shaft is there, motor runs, and can place the fan back on the shaft. But as there is no room, of course, everything needs to be pulled. Just waiting for the rains to stop. _________________ 1982 Porsche N/A |
