Hmm, top mount? Might I recommend a shutdown timer on your water pump?

That is some pretty nice welding work.

Will be receiving this next week to confirm bolt-in fitment. It is designed to fit in place of the CGT intercooler using all the same mounting points. The only "custom" stuff will be using silicone couplers to connect from the turbo outlet to the IC inlet. I'm still in the process of investigating the pump and radiator setup, will update as soon as I've made those acquisitions.

I've had a fixture made, so once I confirm fitment, these will be available for purchase.

If you want an air-to-air replica of the CGT unit, I can have those made too.

PM for pricing.

Should be no issue, as the fabricator built the unit and fixture off of a genuine CGT TMIC. I will know for certain next week when I receive the actual unit.

Bah! Nothing a 5lb sledge wouldn't fix when judiciously applied to the underside of the hood

Murphy's corollary: If it doesn't fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

Moore's postulate: If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

That is sweet. The A/W will not require a new hood either, correct?

This is a nice idea, neat packaging of a ic. In what region would a piece like this be price wise?

Dan, you mentioned that the CGT TMIC brackets were still available. Can you point me/us in the correct direction for those? Thanks, Dave.

Here is the PET diagram:

It's going to depend on which iteration of the intercooler you have. Here's a pic of the one I sent in to be used for creating the fixtures:

As you will note, this unit has been modified to some extent, so I'm not sure that it's mounting points are totally 100% stock; in particular, the mounting boss in the #1 circle is designed and located to mount directly to the stock bracket that hangs off of the standard 931 S2 throttle body (and is also used for the decel valve); I'll call this the decel bracket. This boss allows one to use a standard bonded rubber bushing (part number 931.110.136.00, @ ~$17, item #2 in the diagram) to mount onto the stock bracket, and then supports (and dampens) the TMIC.

The other required bracket is the one that goes in the back of the intercooler by the #5 circle in the above photo. It attaches to the distributor housing, and then has a short L-shape that also uses the same bonded rubber bushing as above to support the rear of the intercooler. So if you happen to have an IC that has these two mounting points, all you need is the stock bracket for the decel valve, and then two of the bonded rubber bushings, and one of the rear intercooler brackets (part number 931.110.209.04 @ ~$48, item #9 in the diagram). I had no trouble getting these from my wholesaler, so I believe they are still available.

The key point here is that my TMCC (top mount charge cooler) is designed to install as simply as possible using this specific arrangement, so whether the #1 mounting boss noted above is stock or not is a moot point when it comes to my TMCC...all you need are the three parts mentioned (or a reasonable facsimile thereof).

Now, for your stock CGT TMIC, Dave, it may be a bit more complicated. Take a look at the following photo from my 937:

If you look at where the #1 location is as noted in the first photo, you will see that the decel bracket is different than the stock 931 decel bracket, and it has the same bonded rubber bushing, but oriented vertically (rather than horizontally) and connecting to a "Z" bracket. If this is the way your car is set up, you will need the following parts:
QTY 2: 931.110.136.00 @ ~$17 ea (item #2 in the diagram)
QTY 1: 931.110.209.04 @ ~$48 (item #9)
QTY 1: 931.110.207.03 @ ~$205 (item #10; this is the modified decel bracket)
QTY 1: 931.110.134.00 @ ~$53 (item #3; this is the Z-bracket)

You can see why I opted to use the mounting boss that allows one to re-use the stock 931 decel bracket. Buying the rear bracket at $48 and a couple of bonded rubber bushings was no big deal, but I wasn't about to spend $300+ for the complete setup! If you don't have the boss as depicted in the first photo, you might be well-served to weld one on such that it sits just above the stock decel bracket and can be used with a vibration damper as described.

Hope that helps.
