Looking at an 88 RX-7 cab. I love RX7s (my 'gateway sports car years ago) and I thought this one might be fun. Dark blue, grey interior. PO will deliver. Price is right.

I've always liked RX7s. One of my neighbors has a cherry example, bright red, series II, but not sure what year...same vintage as the one you're looking at. I don't know much about them...but I believe they were reputed to be a little underpowered...so you should feel right at home being used to 924s and all! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Rotary engines are pretty dependable, where they lack is in the torque department. You get insainly high red lines. The hp will be high up in the RPM range. The second gen RX-7 is a very good looking car. _________________ 81 924 N/A

These are great cars and great values. The blue is a great color. If it is in decent shape, sounds like a deal, particularly if it has the BBS's. _________________ "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you are goin' all the way."

Well, so much for you guys talking me down. You're just a big bunch of enablers, aren't you!
Stevekat, yes, it has the BBS wheels - they look very nice. Y'know, Dan, I remember my 82 RX7 as having just enough power to be an awful lot of fun but there was a bit of carb tweaking needed to make it that way. The 88 was injected though. As with 924/44s, some say they're fast and others say they're not. Of course, we all know the truth...
ATM I'm waiting to hear from the car's mechanic so I have an idea about what I'm getting into. PO has been very agreeable so far and I should know more in a couple of days.

I say go for it. The only thing that would hold me back is the drop top, I just don't like open top cars in any form, but that's just personal taste. You know you want a rotary again... _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

Hard to tell definitively from a photo, but from what is show looks very nice. The condition of the top might be considered. _________________ "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you are goin' all the way."

Nice car, but don't expect it to be as quick as your 82 was. The 2nd gen (particularily soft tops) are very heavy cars for a non turbo rotary. Heaps of fun though, and I'd buy it! _________________ Andrew

Gone! PO sold it without even letting me know, even after we had agreed on a deal.
The Russians believe cars choose us, we don't choose them, so that's that. There's probably another Porsche out there waiting to choose me... _________________ '84 944 - kid blew motor
