hi, i need some things for my 924 and was offered up a 944 parts car. i mainly need rear hatch and spoiler and front fender and moonroof and air deflector and hardware. rest is little stuff. does anyone know if these items are interchangeable? it sounds like for sure the rear hatch and spoiler is but fender may not? was wondering if the brakes systems or anything else would make good upgrades to my 924 that are directly interchangeable? any engine electronics? i need thermal time delay switch as it doesnt start cold without hardwired fuel injector. any hlep is appreciated, dont want to buy a car i cant use!......scot

Hatch, yes. Fender, I think the bolt pattern was different on the 944 fenders, I may be wrong. Sunroof should fit, but I think the latches varied slightly if I recall. Again, been a while since I've seen one, so I may be off. Engine electronics are totally different from the 2.0L CIS system since the 944 2.5L is an electronic injection setup. The brake swap is functional and a direct bolt on as well, although, you'll need the hard brake lines to go with it (am in the process of swapping over to 5 lug, 944 brakes on my 924 at the moment).

Fenders "should" bolt on, but are wider than the 924 fenders and would look a bit odd without a matching rear flare of some sort (think Carrera GT or 944, both require quite a bit of body work to install).

1983 944 shares a lot of parts with the 924 (aside from the engine and suspension cross-member/steering rack)

Suspension is essentially a straight swap over and will gain 5-lug wheels (5x130 Porsche pattern) and 4-wheels disc brakes. Remove the spacers or swap to different offset wheels to fit them under the 924 fenders.

Interior is the same.

Check the spoiler if the rubber is deteriorated, if it is, don't bother as the spoiler will fall apart as the rubber falls apart. Newer 944's used the same spoiler and you can usually find one in better shape if you look around.

The fenders will bolt on but they are wider as fiat22turbo said. Many parts are interchageable but others are not. The heater assemble is not a direct fit but can be made to fit. This is the same as the late 82 and newer. The rear suspension is completely interchangable except for the torsion housing because the 944 does not have the eextended parte to mount the 016y/z or G31 transaxle. The doors are the same except for the latches and handles which were changed around 1982. The A/C evaporator assembly is interchangeable, the dash is interchangeable except for the gauges. (unique to the 944) The 944 sunroof is interchangeable as long as you swap the hardware (the 944 has a power sunroof)

What part of Wisconsin are you located? I'm on the west coast, along the mississippi river. I have all that you need, plus stuff you don't need that you can have! Need any trannies? Have four. Want to upgrade to an Audi five speed? I have two, you'll need to source out a torque tuber for it though. Have a couple of sunroofs, plus the latches. Have five sets of front fenders, only two sets up here though. Rest in new mexico. Plus, I have a spare 944 rear hatch and spoiler as well in Wisconnie.
