Hello, I have never owned a 924 before and I am getting used to the CIS... There is a hole in between the air intake boot and the fuel distributor where the "beam" adjusting 3mm allen is. After making adjustments to this, if I am idling, I can put my finger over the hole and the idle changes. This leads me to believe that there is supposed to be a rubber plug over this hole during normal operation? Haynes sort of alludes to this in the text but I have never seen one in a picture, etc. Can you let me know if there is supposed to be one or this hole always allows air into the vacuum side of the intake? Or a pic or part number, etc? I am still tracking down vacuum leaks but getting there slowly.

Next, I know that the injectors are threaded and have the outer black threaded collars that go into the head of a 931. My question is, is it possible to use regular 924 style injectors in the 931? Obviously I mean with some modifications to accept the o-ring style injector. Is there any other specification change in terms of fuel delivery and or spray pattern? I am able to get the 924 type injectors pretty cheap and this is a budget project so I am thinking of this approach. I would lock them into the black collars--might have to drill out the treads and use a sealant. Yes, it would not be simple to replace them later but I am okay with that as long as fuel delivery and smogging will be good for a driver. Has anybody done this kind of mod, etc?
Thanks, Jeff

Yes there is defiantly supposed to be a screw cover on that hole.

As for standard 924 injectors I doubt very much anyone has bothered to check compatibility - why bother, there is nothing to be gained? At worst get yours cleaned.

The reason the insulators and injectors are threaded is because of the positive pressure in the intake. You should not use standard o-ring type, modified for the application, because they would be subject to leakage past the o-rings, where the thread version creates a tight seal.

The Porsche part number for the small rubber plug on a short steel stick for the mixture opening is:

911.110.934.00

I may have sourced this from EBS Racing at one point. Not sure if I gave them the part number, or just a description.

Spike came with a touch of aluminum tape over that hole! Works great in a pinch. I subsequently found the correct part in my stash, all is well!

The little rubber plug on a stick works well on my 931. My assumption was that this 911 part number is the same as my part, though I am not 100% certain. I cannot find reference to the source I used to get it. Probably Porsche, EBS or PAP. Really a convenient addition.

911.110.934.00 now appears to be NLA.
