I am new here so I hope this is the correct section to ask this. I stumbled across on a 924(turns out its owned by a friend of a friend... ), it has been "sitting" around 4 years now , also I noticed many parts are not original(steering wheel, gear shift knob - oh the horor brrr), so the question is what would be a fair price to offer for it(I am aware that even a minor restoration will cost so...).
Anyways here are the pictures so have a look(unfortunately no pics of the engine bay, but everything is in place, although it has not been running for quite a while now):
BTW sorry if my English is bad, as it is not my native language. |

Sure. This or the Cars and Parts Wanted/For Sale forum. But you'll get the most attention here, I suspect.

And the answer is;

Yep, that's your big problem asking that question here. Probably the majority of people on this 'board are North American (Canada & U.S.). A handful of Pommys and Aussies, the odd Kiwi and the odd European and African interlopers ( ). I don't recall seeing another Croatian here. EDIT: Now I do, Mahatma Gadhni.
So, here in North America, a non-running 924 like that car would be nearly worthless, relatively speaking. I would guess anything between US$500 - $1,000 depending on the real condition (impossible to tell for sure from those pictures). Maybe US$1,500 if it was complete and in good condition with no real problems, like, it was just out of fuel or the battery was flat or something.
The U.K. seems to have roughly equivalent prices to North America, maybe a tad higher.
They're worth a bit more back home in Australia. And in New Zealand. Generally around double the price, in real terms.
I think US$500 - $1,500 works out around kn2,860 up to kn8580.
The real kicker is, they seem to be worth a relative fortune in Europe. I honestly cannot fathom why but it genuinely seems to be the case.
Good luck with it.

I do enjoy Europeans apologising to me for not speaking my language. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

It is a early 924, beside that the rear bumper rubber is painted over and the non original interior it could be worth in germany with a running engine some where near 2800.-Euros. It could receive a german collectors licence because it is over 30 years old.So with that it will be very cheap to insure. Arround 100.-euros for a year.

| It has sport seats. That is a nice edition even if I would not have chosen red centers. In the united states, with the car not running I would not give 500 dollars for it without a thorough check over of the mechanicals. |

Glad I am not the only one from Croatia , but yes good point about the prices, I am aware that they differ from country to country...

Anyways I think I am gonna let this one go, although I will have a few more conversations with the owner to see if we can manage some decent price that suits its condition, then I could consider buying it. If that happens I will surely come here again and share it with you |
