|
|
Hi everyone-
this seems like a strange question - but I started my car up yesterday and it was slow to get going. I know it needs a second or two to warm up and has seemed fine after that however - it was not coming up on the rpm's so I opened the hood to check a few things and within a few seconds it started to come to life and the rpm's came up to around 900.
I did not think much about it and closed the hood. By the time I got back into the car it started to choke and stumble again.
I opened the hood again - and yes the rpm's rose and levelled off. through all of this I did notice that my connection to the turbo was giving off fumes and some smoke.
As strange as this sounds can this exhaust leak have anything to do with the motor choking?
any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

The exaust leek is definently in need of attention... It is not the source of your issue.
I would have to agree with the previous post. Check out what the hood is coming in contact with, throttle linkage, dist, battery(but that is not likely), etc. _________________ 81 Porsche 924

sorry I had forgot about this
the top of the coil was coming into contact with the hood - once it was moved down, it seems ok - the exhaust I will re-check when the weather breaks
thanks _________________ 1979 924 n/a

B? please don't drive with a leaky exhaust?
When you are driving (with the windows up in your bad weather) and you start to feel lethargic, do you put down to "you work hard" or..... is it really the carbon monoxide? _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)

thanks
I guess I should include that my 924 has not reached year round status yet - I know blasphemy -
I was getting ready to do my spring projects before the thaw and after the road salt has been at least somewhat removed.
Brakes and exhaust are at the top of the list -
thanks
