Should be a series of logic tables I would think - if you have a full schematic it's just a matter of tracing it all.... _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

Is it the same in 931?
I check that Ignition scheme from 931 and ther's different Battery (-) connected. _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

Tooday I completed parts list for 931US DITC - I have to check few diodes to make sure I correct identified them.
We've got 62 resistors - but in PCB we've got 72 places for resistors and 4 places for bridges.
All IC's onboard works on 5V power supply.
Unit is protected in most cases with few diodes 1N4001 and one 20V varistor.
We can find also three parallel connected resistors - which got one name (R20,R45,R46)
I found one trouble place... two different resistors got the same name - R62 but they not parallel or even connected toogether. The rest is ok.
OK so now Who know electronics good enought to compare elements on other boards for example 931 Swedish/UK/Germany/ and of course 937. As I noticed DITC is quite good peace of electronic stuff and is really "bullet proof" So don't worry is really hard to damage it.
Complete list of resistors used in US DITC (right now only resistances without tolerance groups and I want verify it one more time):

OK... anyone who can check that parts list with others PCB's please post it here or send to me - so I can go futher with that project.
I'm not sure yet but complete PCB with elements - working as 937 unit can cost about 100 Euros or even less. But that will show in future. _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

I checked both mine and most of the discrete parts are the same. I am guessing that the tuning area is R70-77. This is the difference that I have discovered so far:
R70 Unused 826k
R71 Unused unused
R72 Unused 611k
R73 Unused unused
R74 230k 259k
R75 Unused 902k
R76 270k 312k
R77 69K 69,8k
R10 12k 720 12k
R20' 1,5k 1,8k/6,2k 1,6k/10k
R8 3,3M 33m 33m
R9 1M 10m 10m
Under board 12k 720 12k
First row is position, second US third and fouth are UK/German.
Please note that these are high quality resistors with five ribbons, 4 for quantaty and 1 for tolerance. Sometimes even with a sixth ribbon for temp.
Everything is covered in epoxy so I couldnīt measure the resistors, had to "read" the colors which is difficult. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Please check this things in your DITCs:
Which bridge is connected W1 or W2? in US version is W2.
One track from 6'th leg of MC14001B - V65 is cuted in US.
Is there added diode V6 near pressure sensor in ROW?
And another parts like diode V5 and resistor R79 up from pressure sensor.
I'm not sure but is there in ROW one track from R66 is cutted?
I think that could be all changes between US and ROW... but I check it with photos later. _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

No W2 bridge, just W1. The W2 is connected to the the extra card on one of the ROW DITC. Canīt see anything strange with the legs on V65. One diod on position V6. One diod on V5 and a 97k resistor on R79. A 10k resistor in R66, but there is a cut on the mainboard- yes. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

I ask becouse I fonud that differences between DITC units from US and i think Germany or UK - i'm not sure... but definitely ROW.
If we want to upgrade weakest unit to most powerfull we have to noticed all even smallest changes
Another places:
There's not R30 on ROW...
On addional board we can found MC14011B - 2 diodes - 2 resistors and one capacitor (6??? 100V WIMA). Addional PCB has tracks on one side only so it can't be hard to make new one.
US unit in that places:

McGyver,
Is that another burnt trace I see in the first US DITC picture? If so, were both the units like that? _________________ 1981 931 CGT replica, OEM CGT intercooler, .8 BAR WG spring, GTS Headlights, Innovative Wide band A/F, A/C delete, 16" Fuchs, Weltmeister 200lb lowering springs, Bilstein HDs front, Koni Sport rears. |

No it's not burnt trace and it's on booth US units, it was cutted in factory, and it is under securing paint on PCB. So that cut it's some way to change settings in ignition timing, like other changed elements. In German DITC that trace is complete, but another one is cutted like on Gegge pics. _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

I found something interestig... in or out number 7 on PCB is connected in US version but in ROW that in/out? 7 isn't connected to anything - that track is cutted.

I confirm that #7 is not connected on the ROW DITC. As far as I know is is connected to the ignition module on the front right fender. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

I wish I had more to contribute to this thread, but I have to say, I am really impressed with the determination and progress. I do have a Euro 931 now, so if high resolution images are still needed for the RoW DITC, I could snap a few pix. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
