Not 924 related, but I'm sure you'll appreciate this beautiful 550 replica I had in the studio yesterday.

Engine sound on the right of the page.

If anybody can see formatting errors on the page with their browser, please let me know because I am writing the site code from scratch. I know it needs at least 1000px screen width to display properly.

Very cool! How was the turntable constructed? I've wanted to make such a turn table for a long time.

Have you ever considered making Quicktime ObjectVR's? They allow the user to manipulate the 360° image, zoom in & out, pan, rotate, etc.

Thanks for the feedback. The turntable was custom built by a guy I know but I can't think of a good way to describe how it works. It's basically two discs with rollers between them. I will take a look at the Quicktime doo-dah.

Also, I did a bunch of these with my Matchbox collection quite a while ago. Go here: http://1up.ideola.com/photos/quicktime_vr.html and then select "Diecast Object VRs" from the picklist.

Looks great on my 1440x900 MacBook Pro display w/Safari 4.0. Page title is still for the 924 CGT however...

QTVR is a great idea...

Thanks for the page title note. I'm doing everything manually at the moment and will change it now.

The Quicktime VRs are nice. When I bought my video camera I tried to do a test video with a 1:24 diecast on an Autoart turntable but it wouldn't keep focus at such close range. I'll stick with the video for the moment but I agree the VRs look good.

I noticed it had a Les Leston steering wheel. I have these wheels in stock and they are new with some hubs. Expensive but beautiful. Period correct. Wheels were stored for almost 40 years.
