is there anyone in CT/central MA area that would help me get my car to my house? I cant seem to find anyone i know with a truck that is operational to help tow my car down from mass. i know this is a crazy request but i am desperate. i have a trailor lined up that we could use after 6pm on a friday or saturday, or anytime on sunday. i just need someone with a truck. i will pay for gas and meals. i just want my car at my house instead of 2hrs away. thanks. _________________ "Kraut cars, they know how to build 'em".

id give you a hand, but im 1200+ miles away.. so no help there. You could rent a pick up truck or a uhaul truck locally, ive had to do that a few times when i was i truckless and in a pinch. flat towing is also sometimes an option, and a small engine car can even do it if your careful and have a good second driver, and working brakes in the car being towed, but its not really optimal. _________________ Eric

In most states in the U.S. it is illegal to tow a car and have someone steer and working the brakes. a flatbed is your best choice as they are insured incase something happens.......Fred _________________ "Its a dod eat dog world and im wearing milkbone underware" |

lol, ive still got a open judgment against a towing company in liberty, ny...for dumping my 924 down a hill . just because theyre a business, doesnt mean their insured or legal, i figured that one the hard way.. use caution ... _________________ Eric

| I think he's talking about towing the car on a trailer with the truck..., not with a rope behind the truck... |

yeah the rental route is looking the best. but it would have been cheaper to pay someone for gas with a meal included. thanks for the tips. _________________ "Kraut cars, they know how to build 'em".

thanks for the bump, but i understand peoples unwillingness to hook up a complete stranger.
i looked in to a u-haul, it would be just under 1/2 of what an actual tow would cost. the car is 110 miles away. so now i'm looking into Avis, they offer a decent discount to military members (i'm in the Coast Guard). _________________ "Kraut cars, they know how to build 'em".
