I am trying to re-mount a clutch master cylinder to the firewall and that section of firewall is so badly corroded I am replacing the whole section with a new fabricated plate. If anyone has any pictures of a clutch master cylinder mounted in the stock location on a 931 (left hand drive) it would help me tremendously to see them. A shot at the clutch master from the engine compartment would really help. Also from inside the car where the clutch pedal push rod meets the master cylinder. Thanks in advance.

the slave cyl should barely fit near the wheel well...i dont have pics sorry...but mount the pedal and all the assy around there and see where it points and make sure that the lever pressing on the cyl is paralell to the cyl itself.

That's one item that's tough to get a good view of.

Like your horn ground repair Smoothie, same idea as mine.

Curious what the stretchy strap holds or does. We call them occy (octopus) strap down under, what are they called there?

Them'd be called "bungee cords" 'round these parts.

It's attached to the clutch pedal, and there to pull it back up. When the seals in the clutch master, slave or both start to go, the pedal will drop to the floor, requiring lifting with your toes, then some pumping to bring it back to life. Also on rare occasions it'll drop to the floor while the seals are still in good shape - apparently due to engine vibration, especially on hard accelleration. -So having the bungee cord there to lift the pedal for you eliminates the slightly annoying extra step of having to peel the pedal off the floor with your toe.

Ha ha, great initiative there.
Would have thought Porsche used a spring there.

You keep proving that old dogs can learn new tricks.
