OK, I'm going to apologize in advance. I was super hard on this kid when he was on this board, and now I'm posting a link to his craziness. However, I just can't resist, I laughed outloud when I read this Rennlist thread, it is absolutely hilarious. Its not the usual Timstar stuff, this is a whole new area of discussion, but with the same entertaining personality.

He's nuts. Even if he goes to court he will lose on all 4 tickets. Then he has to pay court and lawyer fees.

lol - crazy. The guy mentions a Geo Metro something like 10 times - sounds like he should really be in that. But he mentioned speeding to pass someone who is speeding or at least doing the limit when the rule of thumb for passing is something like "if you can't pass the person in front going 10kmp/mph faster, then don't pass" and that is obviously supposed to be done within the speed limit.

Anyway, he is definitely Timstar material.

And nice plug for the 924

Sure, I know lots of attorneys who would do multiple traffic trials for $799!

I love those TS posts. Explains problem-gets solid advice-ignores advice. Nothing beats an 8 page post on changing a spark plug.

Yummybud924 - that's Tim, right?

This was the best advice he was given:

What the chance he'll take it?

See, problem is, its timstar, he won't take it. Other problem is, if he does take that advice (just pays it out) he will lose his drivers license due to the laws governing N drivers.

What he should be doing, is disputing all the tickets (this is so they don't go on his record right away, rather than because he has a hope of actually fighting them) And then going in and getting his proper full license before the points hit his license. Then paying it out. That way he doesn't lose it, Though he really should lose it honestly. This will also give him about a year to save up the cash to pay the tickets.

and Rasta,
up here it costs over $1k just to get a lawyer to go to court for you, no guarentee he will win.

Tim should sell the car and take the 32 window coupe as he is doing it wrong,

I actually just got a GPS unit and found out that my speedo is way out, I used to do 120 according to my speedo down the 100 marked freeway, I found out that I was actually doing 137 and I havent been pulled over for speeding in a long time.

well looks like I'm pretty screwed.

It's not just $800 bucks in tickets anymore according to ICBC.

you get driver penalty points for each ticket so I have 9 or 12 dpp points, not sure if driving without the N is 3 points or 0.

if I have 9 points it's 650 in dpp if I have 12 points it's 1260 dollars in addition to paying the 800 so I would have to pay 2000+ in fees

if I have 9points it's 1400 bucks total but that is still insane. The first cop was an ass and gave me three separte tickets.

I was going 103km/h according to his radar down number 5 road, it was early morning on my way to work with no cars in the left lane. I wasn't drivng cruising at 100+km/h lol.

I was running late and there was a long stretch of road no cars in front so I accellerated and he got me at 103. Was a ghost cop in a minivan.

3 tickets including the excessive speed $368 dollars adds up to about 650 bucks.

then yesterday on my way to school I again accelerated to make a pass adn I think the cop got me at 75km/h in a 50 or 60 zone. I was keeping upt with traffic but he only got me. He gave me the min ticket of 139 dollars.

the thing is if I do pay for all these tickets that's admitting to being guilty to for all 4 tickets and 9 or 12 points can mean losing my license for a few months and I need my car to get to work as I live further away now.

I'm going to talk to a lawyer that deals with traffic violations to get an opinion first before paying the fines.

I was making sure to stay exactly at 60km/h today on my way home and no more than 100km/h on the freeway (speed limit 90).

I usually go 140-160 on the highway but another excessive speed ticket will mean I will be waiting at the bus stop instead of driving.

the thing is everyone is speeding. Average speed on the highway is probably 120 km/h not 90. I was getting passed by minivans and angry soccer moms when I kept my speed down to 100.

I was thinking about getting a radar/ laser detector right before this actually happened but I'm not sure how effective they are. I've heard cops are using laser and from what I've heard the radar / laser detectors are only good for radar and won't help with laser.

I don't plan on driving like a psycho but I don't want to get another ticket because I accidenly go 65 instead of 60. It's a fact that the cop will target the sports car vs the dodge caravan even if the minivan is speeding a bit.
