I wonder if all that dirt and filth is original?
I don't buy cars that are that dirty.
If the owner can't even get off his lazy duff to vacuum the floor why would I believe he's maintained the car properly?

That car is disgusting. So many dents...and it's filthy...AND it doesn't run. Worth $500, IMO. _________________ -1977 924, 4-Spd...Gone

if you look carefully, you can see overspray on the bumpers rubber trim where the bumper meets the fender. So much for originality. _________________ 87 924s

if you look, youll notice its being sold by a dealer of some sort.. "cash for cars"... obviously one who doesn't care to much or wants to put any effort at all into maximizing his investment return.. pity... _________________ Eric

The Car that is featured today is not the one for sale on E-Bay. I have owned Red-79 for 21 years and it is one of 5 known to exit with the org decal package and plaid interior. It is featured in the Models and History on this site under Sebring. The Car has won 15 tropies Many first places in my class beating Cars worth $50.000- $80.000 more. Every thing is orig. except the headers, tuned exhast, weber big thoat trottle body, and radio. I have an extra interior thanks to vince, and I love this car. In 1979 this car sold for $15,700 and cost more than a vette that year. In fact this being the first front engine, water cooled Porsche,I think this car saved Porsche from going under. I drive Bimmers as my daily drivers, but I love to break the 924 and do some back country roads. Have a Good Thanksgiving. Michael _________________ Not just a 924, A 79 Sebring,Correct and Right

I think there's enough there to be worth saving. The Sebring is quite a rare model. He's kidding himself over the price, though.
The trouble is: because of the high asking price, it won't sell. He'll then just want to get rid of it and it'll be scrapped. One more gone for good! _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

Yeah, that's not worth much at all and I love how he spelled "Seabring" in the auction title too.
My car has won a couple of awards too including a Judge's Choice at Tweeks a few years ago. That REALLY upset at least one owner of a new 911 that thought his new car was better. I actually heard the guy go off on a judge about giving an award to a 924.

You can see mine under models and History on this site. I think if you remember I e-mailed you and you sent me pics of your car. Did you get it from a collector, I think that's what you told me years ago when I contacted you about getting pics of your car, I'm from PA. _________________ Not just a 924, A 79 Sebring,Correct and Right

That's right! In fact, I have some pictures of your car on my other computer too.
Yup, I got it from a guy that had several Porsches and needed the money badly. I had just sold my 1980 924 at the time and was having a hard time finding a decent replacement. I was more than thrilled when I found the Sebring.
You finally found some replacement stripes for your car after you had it repainted didn't you? |
