I'm looking at a 931 for sale near me. It's a 1981 porsche 924 turbo (obviously) with 73,850 miles on it. It has black leather interior. The Seats have some loose seams so they're covered by seat covers, and the dash, made of leather, is somewhat torn up, so the previous owner covered it up with a dash cap. Mechanically, I was told it runs great. I havn't gotten to go look at it myself yet, so I don't know if this is true. Transmission, clutch, and turbo are all noted as working great. AC works. Power windows work. Doesn't rattle at all. It has all original equipment to my knowledge.

If everything that the was said is true, then i believe this could be a good deal. Anybody have any input on it? What other than the usual should i look for? I've looked at a few 944's, so i know to look at the timing belt. This is something to look for on the 931 also, correct? If anyone has any input please say so. I'd like to know how good of a deal this actually is and if i should act on it. I'm located near St. Louis, MO, so if anyone knows of any other Porsches located around here for about 5,000 or so, please contact me.

I'll try tog et some pics to put on here soon.

Edit: They'r asking $3,450 for it. Good Price? or no...

run water in the battery tray and check for it coming through into the interior compartment.

It's a good price if you are a seller, it would have to be in excellent condition. Take a magnet to the body, keeping just away so you can feel the pull, if it's damaged somewhere, but well filled and straight, where eyes can't tell, your magnet will.

I was interested in that car too. Mavfan on this board went and test drove it for me. I live in minnesota, so driving down sight unseen wasn't a good idea. He thought it was one of the better 931s he's seen in a long time. The dealer went down to 3200 for me, but I passed on the car. I bought one locally last weekend, nice paint, no rust, really good leather interior minus the dash of course, nice carpet, but the engine needs some work. I paid 3000 for it. Dave
