any tips on re-connecting the sway bar to the control arm, for some reason im having trouble lining them up right, it seems like it should be really simple.

One source of trouble I can imagine is if you're trying to do it with one side jacked-up. -Need to have both sides at the same level.
Which bar? Early or later? Early has links at the ends and connects to "tabs" that are welded to the A-arms. Later attaches directly to the bottoms of the A-arms.

Don't torque down the sway bar attachments to the body, just put the nuts on loosely, it will make it easier to rotate the bar in the bushings. Once the drop links are attached to the arms, then tighten everything.

Try jacking up the car until it meets the sway bar or the parts involved.
Or the wheel.
