hi guys ive just added yet another porsche to my collection lol. its a black 81 931 with 944 "body styling".The seller assures me that the rear 1/4 panels are steel. I bought the car on ebay and bid "blind" so ive yet to see what the quaility of the 944 conversion is like.It has no vented nose panel and what appears to be a poor attempt at replicating the 931 style duct on the hood. One of the front fenders is also fiberglass.

Mechanically speaking, all i know is that it runs but has a leak from the gas tank and it still retains the dogleg box.....again condition unknown.

The car has regestration papers in the sellers name so i'm taking it for granted that it is indeed a genuine 932 with 944 rear 1/4 panels and not a 944 with 931 mechanicals. That being said i'm puzzled as to why anyone would bother to cut out the vented badge panel and replace it with a stock 924/944 panel and also not keep the original hood?

any thoughts? i'll post pics (if i can figure out a method) as soon as the car is in my possesion.

Hello there,

first: did you trace the chassisnumber?
Is there an enginenumber?

Those two numbers are a start to make sure it is a genuine 932.
Next to that: that bodyconversion and the missing of the slots may be an indication of an accident in the past... Most of the time, people start a conversion after an accident because the car has to go to a bodyshop.

What did you pay for it??

good luck
