Just wondering how many people use an anti theft device on their 924's. If so, what kind of system do you use?

Thanks

My anti theft device is one fairly large German Shepard and an evil looking rodesian ridgeback cross who look after my car. They have a kennel next to it and when I take the car out the come along for the ride.
Prior to that it was two very large rotweilers

I use car security system from Spal, my friend (who has a shop specialized to this) installed it las summer. I like the keyless entry-thing and when you lock the car, it automatically closes any open windows.

I would let the poor SOB take it. Then his problems will really start, the first time he tries to fix it!

I keep mine locked but never really worry too much about it getting stolen.

There' s no option for no.

Since I have to use a key to lock the door, I often don't even lock it. Not really a high theft vehicle.

Get Classic Insurance and get the max on theft. Leave the doors open with the keys in it.

NO ONE will steal it.

My ECU has built a in imobiliser ... ignition and fuel. If your worried about theft then first change your door lock knobs to anti theft ones, this should hamper the radio thieves a little and if your realy worried then take the distributor rotor with you... and leave a note on the dash saying you've broken down...

If someone can do that, they're wasting their time stealing cars, they could be Billionares!

Does the fact that it is a 924 count as an anti-theft device?

I just lock the doors. I figure if anyone can get it to run long enough to steal it they can have it. Also the fact the muffler fell down and is now dragging on the ground should keep anyone from really wanting to steal it or loud enough for the police to track.

If I ever get around to it when I switch to efi I might do something simalir to the dodges skim keys.

Had some fun reading all these replies, but in the UK its almost impossible to get insurance unless you have an immobiliser, and usually it has to be thatcham approved (insurance regulator approved). So I have a thatcham category 2 immobiliser fitted (these cost about £100 fitted) and it kills fuel pump and ignition as far as I know. I know its another link to go wrong, but most Porsches in the UK have at least this amount of security...

Mine is a Sig 40 S&W!

Also she is always in the garage when not driven by me. So... they would first have to break into my house... get past me the .40 and my Dog. If they did all that... then my family would hunt them down and ... well you know the rest.

Seriously... a switch with a relay that cuts power to the fuel pump does the trick.
