I have made a website about the 924 Carrera GT. It is currently at www.924gt.com. I have a couple of other 924CGT domain names that I will link to the original site when I get the time. Any comments about the site are gratefully received.

hey nice, are you 100% sure that the 0-60 times are correct?
just a slight tuch of centering all the information(the main part with the text gets wide as the screen and i use 1680x1050) and the mouse over effect in light gray or light blue should make it perfect. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

0-60 times. Looks like the Carrera GT is 6.5 sec with some testing as low as 5.4, but I suspect the 5.4 is the GTS... which would be about right for a 924 with a 245hp engine.

Also your description concerning the 924s birth isn't correct. The last thing we 'd like to see is misinformation about this oft misrepresented bit of 924 history disseminated on a site dedicated to its ultimate form. Having said this, kudos for creating the site and I hope it develops into a cool 924 resource.
Here's some info on the 924's beginnings. The book its sourced from is an excellent read and a must have for anyone interested in 924s of any kind.
"The 924 began when VW commissioned Porsche to design and develop a top of the line sports car. Designated the EA-425 it was slated to wear an Audi badge and be marketed under the VW/Audi agreement. To keep costs down and make the finished car affordable for its target market it would utilize the recently developed 2 Liter Audi block and would pick when needed from the VW/Audi parts bin. After 2 years of design and development, and just as the EA-425 was being readied for pre-production VW cancelled the project. Many blame the energy crisis, political wrangling and a breakdown of the VW/Audi/Porsche relationship, but regardless of the reason, it seemed the EA-425 which Porsche fully designed and developed would never see full production. However, with the 914 gone and Porsche in need of an entry level sports coupe, Porsche management decided to purchase the EA-425 contract back from VW and place the finished car into production as the Porsche 924."

| Thanks for the feedback. I will make the changes soon. I checked the website from work today and the vertical spacing looks wrong, so I'll sort this out as well. I'm a real amateur on the code though. |

Almost forgot
4.7 seconds is an oft quoted 0-60 figure for the GTR _________________ 1981 931 GT (CGT Intercooled)

i dont know about the 0-60 times...the 944S2 has the exact same performance figures as the CGT but a lot more weight and it still does 0-60 in 6 seconds flat for the euro market...or 6.2 anyway...very close to 6.
The CGT is lighter has the same torque and the peak torque hits lower or about the same in the RPM band...so should be quicker than an S2. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Yes there was. 924 Carrera GTS CS produced 275 hp. Derek Bell, who won Le Mans 24H in 1975, 1981, 1982, 1986, 1987, still has one. How cool is that? And I think he understands a lot about sport cars. That says a lot. _________________ Mikko

Thanks for the advice guys. I want to pin down the 0-60 times and the chassis numbering before I update the website. I have the Brian Long book somewhere and will dig it out to confirm these.
Somebody sent me a link to an online GT website:

It's brilliant and looks like it is kept up to date. |

To adjust line height add a "line-height" tag to the p { } section in your layout1.css document:
Something like this
line-height: 13px;
