Alright. I`m sure this has been covered before....but there is always a new influx of (well new) people, and maybe....just maybe....we can find someone we can relate to.
I`ll start off:
Do you really want to know....??? Ok..here it is. I`ve been an automotive technician for about the last 18 years.Shall I say the dread word? By God, I`m a Honda Tech! A well engineered car in my opinion. I`ve even worked at ma and pa shops.I was even a tow truck driver for a spell.
My tech degree was in planes...but, I guess, you follow a path.
Now...I`m a full time dad, softball coach, husband, novice golfer, and amonst other things, (hey KHAL! and the other aussies) a toofah junkie!
By keeping abreast here, I`ve learned more than welll.....I guess you would say....."you`ll ever know" |

I'm a freelance writer and contributing editor to California Fly Fisher magzine, California Game and Fish, Sporting Days, and was a contributor to the Los Angeles Times Outdoors until the section ceased publication.
In other words, I am a fishing bum. Or a hunting bum. It depends on the season.
I am a toofah junkie. But I can change. If I want to. I guess.
Nah!
My toofah is a daily driver, though I rarely get to drive it. My wife does a fifty+ mile commute in it every day. She loves the car as much -if not more- than I do.
We're shopping for a 944 Turbo so we can stop fighting over the keys to the toofah. I would like another 924S, but I'm giving up on the idea of finding one in good enough shape to bring home. I think the "flared" fenders / wings of the 944 turn one of the best-looking cars ever made (924) into quasi-nipponese rolling 80s-vintage butt-ugliness. Okay, that might be a bit of an ovestatement, but I do like the 924's looks over those of the '44. So if I HAVE to drive a '44, it had better be a quick one!

Student, I don’t even have a job out side of school yet. It’s hard to get one around here for a student. Plan on going to collage for AFP. In my spare time I play with animations and I’m getting better. _________________ 1979 924 sebring project car (first car)

HI- Left school in 1972 at age 15, a long time ago, and joined the navy as an apprentice electrician.
Left 12 years later as an electrical engineer, a couple of medals and ongoing problems from injuries during service.
Worked my way thru civilian recognition of my skills and obtained electrical licenses and after working for several employees started my own electrical business in 1992.
I worked occasionally for the national telecommunications company and 18 months ago they wanted me to be their full time contractor in the region.
Now I manage the maintenance, repairs, cleaning, removals or installations of all payphones within 300klms.
Too much for one guy and I went from nearly quitting because I couldn't do the work because of the earlier mentioned injuries, to sitting mostly in the office delegating the work crews.
Bought the toofah in March, finally was happy enough to use as a daily driver a month ago after finally taking it off the stands.
I need to change the belt tensioner (belt only was done by PO), fix odometer again, new tyres and paint job. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

My degree is in Recreation and Resort Management and for the first 5 years out of school, that's what I did. I managed a Ski and Golf Resort in the mid-Atlantic region and was the regions first snowboarding Ski Patrol member/instructor.
My career went through a transition when I remarked to the owner of the resort that we needed a website to cut down on all the phone calls we got about prices and ski conditions. Long story short, I build a site. It caught the attention of locals and later that of a company in Chicago - where I now live.
After the .com flop, I started my own business with a graphic designer (since I am a programmer) and successfully ran that for three years. With more programming being out-sourced to India and the birth of my first, and recently second child, the long hours and roller coaster income forced me to go back to a regular paycheck job.
Now, I work for aap.org and moonlight work out of iribbit.net. My 924 is 80% restored (slow going) and just as slow is my efforts to redesign the 924.org website (see sig).
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
[edit] I start my Masters Degree in e-Commerce and e-Marketing in January of 2006. _________________ 924.org (no time to complete)

Just registered... been on Rennlist for a few years, now. One day I swore I'd never own a Honda. Well, my Subaru was totalled a few months ago and didn't have time to buy it back and do the engine/driveline swap that I wanted to do. Nearly bought a Volvo 850, but my co-worker was selling his 1990 Integra... great engineering. Handling on dead bushings still better than most cars.
More about me... I'm a reservation agent in the travel industry, but looking to go back to school and finish off my BEng in Mech Eng. Other than that, I'm a golfer, skier/snowboarder, mountain biker and motorsports nut. Looking to prep a rally car in the near future and start competing nationally. _________________ 90 Acura Integra LS 3-dr - beater rocket (sold)

I work for Ford Motor Company here in Greece, the last four years as After Sales Zone Manager.
Amongst many responsibilities are keeping tabs on the authorised dealers, making sure they adhere to procedures, customers are always satisfied.... cars are repaired with Ford procedures etc.....
I went to England when I was six years old, grew up there, studied Business & Finance. I also worked for a Ford dealer in England in various positions including technician. This was in the late 80's.
I moved back to Greece in 1993 after twenty years in England, married in 1994 and have two wonderful girls aged 11 & 7.
Main interests are cars in general, with Porsche & Ford as main hobbies(the Capri in my signature we have owned since brand new, 1st my father then me from 1984)

| I was a sales manager at 21 and a marketing manager at 23, now I'm 24 and drive BMW's around all day. I spent some time trying to please the Gods by buying a Porsche, BMW and Audi but it hasn't worked out in my favor, at least not that I can see. Perhaps if I started turning my own wrenches, they would be happier? |
