|
|
Ther was a huge piece of a tree right in my path. I could not avoid because of traffic on the other side of the road and behind me, so I went over it.
Now when pulling away, there is a kind of metallic ticking sound that speeds up with the car. The gearshift also seems much looser than it did before, adn there is a clunk when going in 2nd or 3rd.
I cannot see anything loose underneath and nothing is obvoiusly damadged. If anyone can suggest anything greatly appreciated, thanks. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo RHD. 3" > 2.5" Stainless straight-through exhaust. |

Was it front wheel or just rear?
You should check if the rim is ok. When it gets hit seriously, the inside border can be bent so much that it touches the strut. I had similar thing on a racetrack couple of years ago when oponent hit me in the left front wheel. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

It didn't hit the wheel - just dragged underneath the car.
It seems the noise is coming from the back of the car, and only when it's in gear and moving. Eventually it seems to dissapear as accellerating. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo RHD. 3" > 2.5" Stainless straight-through exhaust. |
