I just finished putting my dash together and my heater controls have become messed up.

the one on top that controls the fan speed works fine it moves esily from left to right.

the middle one for the heat dosn't work, it doesn't move all the way to the righ it just goes ot the middle then gets stuck there.

the one on the bottom for the redirection of the airflow to defrost doesn't work it doesn't move all the way left it goes all the way right and not even to the middle.

I looked at it from the back of the centre console and the wire that attaches to the the metal part that you move left and right has come loose and it moves throught it and it come out longer and so it gets stuck in the middle and won't go all the way left.

I don't want to remove my centre console again can I just push the lever that it pulls (on the heater unit, I think when you push it back manually (without the cable) it is suppose to direct the air to the windows.

but when I do it I can still feel air blowing in the footwell area is this normal.

there is barely any air blowing for defrost even with the fan at full speed. the vents closed and this lever pushed back.

I'm worried about driving in the winter when the windoes fog up.

is there anything you can coat the inside of the window with to stop it from fogging up?

I heard coating it with antifreeze and letting it dry on will stop it from fogging up but I don't know if that works.

thanks.
