What is the best way to strip the paint off the bumpers (chem. strip not working well)

what is the best way to prep them for paint?

I was able to use chemical stripper. Can't remember which one, but it was a "heavy-duty" kind. Laid it on thick and covered with plastic and let sit overnight.

That got most of it. May take a second pass after scraping. Then it was wire cup on the angle grinder and sandpaper. I think I also used a flapper wheel on the grinder, but you have to be very careful with gouging.

It is a long shot but I had success with clearcoat using Easy Off Oven cleaner Heavy duty. I would put it on and do half at a time and leave it on for 4 minutes. Hose off and if not satisfied do it again for 4 minutes. You will see that it comes off after some more applications or sooner.
Do not leave the stuff on for longer than 4 at a time. It will etch the bumper. If you don't have the time do it another time.
Total cost about $3.89

I went after them today after using some chem strip with a random orbit sander. they cleaned up rather well.
