|
|
The PO painted the car with the minimum of masking.
He painted the rear spoiler and the rubber around the back side windows.
I would like to get these back to black (remove the paint). I can scratch the paint off with my fingernails but at about 1" every 15 minutes this could take a long time for the whole car.
Is there a quicker way to do this? _________________ '84 944

Replace the window surrounds. Remove the spoiler carefully and use paint remover or reducer available at a car paint store. As for the side ditto.
OR you could buy another spoiler.
If it makes you feel better I transported a 89 911 turbo two days ago that painted all the rubbers on the car white. I think if you lean on them they will crack and look awful. Even if you put a additive in the paint to keep it pliable. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

Vince,
thanks for the tip.
Will any automotive paint remover not affect the rubber?
If not, what should I look for. I guess the paint shop would know
I guess I didn't fully explain the situation. The PO painted pretty much all the rubber white, bumper guards, windshield molding, door handles, everything.
Given this, any more advice? _________________ '84 944
