Hi: Recently acquired, a non running 931. PO said it needed a new starter & battery. Installed new battery & NOTHING!! No sign of juice anywhere, dash gauges, power windows, lights, nothing. The starter is missing & there are several loose wires hanging in the under side of the starter area. Where do I start? And, where I go from there? Many thanks in advance. Can get a new (rebuilt) starter in minutes locally for $160.00. Dick Price.

I know where you are at with the wiring, I'm there myself. If you go to http://www.rockauto.com you can get a rebuilt starter for fifty bucks or so.

when the starter isn't installed, nothing else in the car will get power, becuase the main battery and alternator connect at the starter and then go to everything else. You'll have to either connect the wires together (dangerous if not isolated with electrical tape) or wait until you've got a new starter in.
