Had the '81 931 up on the hoist today to see about installing a rear sway bar but found there was no provision for mounting the rubber bushing clamps like on my 924S and as per the manual. Anyone have some suggestions?

| You can either buy a u-bolt clamp kit like the one offered by Weltmeister (very expensive), or a generic kit from a auto parts store, or assemble your own u-bolt clamp kit from parts purchased from a hardware store. |

Just as I thought. Strange that a 931 had no provision for it, though.
Thanks,

Hey Dwak (long time no see?!)
Are you saying that you don't have the mounts on your torsion bar carrier? That would definitely require something like the Welt kit. Or you can cut some off a torsion carrier that does have them and weld them onto yours. The Welt kit is very ill-fitting. |

7 to 13 pics starting here (depending on how many you feel like looking at) show the Weltmeister rear bar mounting -

To duplicate that, you'd need 3.5" U-bolts as shown in the second image. To copy the end link to car attachment, you could weld bolts to the existing camber eccentric bolts.
Mounts welded to the torsion bar carrier would be better than the U-bolts. If you do go with U-bolts, they'd be better tack welded to the t-bar carrier (something that's been on my own list to do for quite some time). _________________ "..it's made in Germany.
