I don't know if this has been done before, but I thought it would be cool if everyone posted the name and contact info for their favorite (or preferred) Porsche/German specific shop. A great way to spread the word about trustworthy mechanics!

Part sources in UK:

Eurocarparts http://www.eurocarparts.com - THey don't seem to know anything about 924's, but the parts are good and cheap.

Porsche Shop :- http://www.porscheshop.co.uk - Good at getting weird parts, but only new. They do some upgrade parts also.

http://porsch-apart.co.uk :- I have got new and used parts from here, they are excellent, really know what they are talking about, and polite too.

http://www.lodgesports.org.uk :- Very efficient with a large supply of new and used parts. They also seem to know a lot about 924's. They do race them after all !

For repairs that you don't want to attempt yourself try 'Harveys' in Nazeing -Essex, they know loads about 924's (they prepare several for racing) and are reasonably priced.

I got into the 924 because I wanted a car that was cheap....because I couldn't afford to take it to a garage. So I guess what I am getting at is my favorite garage is my own.

Didnt he mean personal shops like right down the street or at least a near by town. I have 2 and I dont know if I should give up there locations.
Like maybe some voodoo or somethin will follow. I got 2 places I use
ones a german owned porsche garage and the other has been in
mags like porsche excellance to advertise. Both will build you a car.
I do all my own work also and use these places for parts or maybe advice though Ive kept away from the first place as the owner & geniues behind it had a stroke
when he fell and broke his leg in his shop.. his sons are running it and hes slowly recovering I guess. The other shop I use alot though its a little ways away from me.

Jim's shop in Springfield, NE. I've never been there but I hear it's nice. Brass poles, carpeted toilet seats, the works. The ladies start dancing at 8:00am and don't stop 'till everyone's left. And the beer is all cold, plentiful and free. Yeah, that's it. <pop> oh....just another daydream.

I've had very good luck at Cordells here in Omaha. They did a fuel tank refurb, fixed all my CV joints, replaced the injectors and a bunch of others stuff. This was about 4 or 5 years ago.

Hey, if you get the 4 post lift, that'd be three more poles!

Just don't let on to Tom about the dancing. You know how crazy he gets when they do that.

Kidding Tom.

I sent a message to Pres. Bush. Asked him if he wanted to stop by as long as he's in the neighborhood. He said the Secret Service gets pi*&y when he drives his 924...nowhere for them to stand. I told him we'd send him a t-shirt when we get them.

For those of you wondering if it would be worth it to come to meeting at Mahoney tomorrow, we will adjourn to Jim's shop after the meeting.
