Flosho,
Seems strange they are out of stock. Last time i spoke to them, a couple of months ago, they had them in and never mentioned them being an end of life item. Have you spoken to anybody at the factory?? If i can find the contact details of the guy i deal wwith, i'll pass it on.

Regarding the weight issue, they really are super light, but be careful as to their fitment intot he valve sockets. I had to have my follower sockets bored a fraction as the clearences were too tight. As for running the cam in, just run the engine at 2000rpm for 20-30 minutes, and you should be set.

according to my instructions from integral, you need to run the camshaft in at a different valve clearance than what you run it at after the cam has been run in. So you would in fact have to change the shims.

Last time I talked to them, they were out of stock and had no idea when they intended to make more. If they are in stock now, let me know, I need to order a set.

| Quote: | Set the initial cold valve lash at .011" intake/.011" exhaust. After the initial break-in period is over(see below), check the hot valve lash. Allow the motor to cool down and then adjust the cold lash by your measured cold-to-hot delta so that the valve lash will grow to .015" when your engine is hot. It is the hot valve lash that really matters.
Break-in the new cam at 2000 rpm or slightly higher for 20 minutes continously after the motor is first started with the new cam. |
from the instructions that came with both my integral camshafts.
