Use Victor Reinz (or better.) Make sure to use the 931 head gasket. It is different than the 924 N/A head gasket.

The arrow on the 931 fuel filter should point towards the rear of the car.

Head checked out undamaged. The valves were not bent. The exhaust valves were a little thin so they are getting changed with SI valves. Probably have head ready by Saturday.

Please tell us exactly what you meant by "ripped". I have never seen a 931 survive a broken belt without bending valves.

Did your car have an extra thick head gasket or non stock pistons?

I'm still amazed that the valves are not bent.

Dude, the fuel filter is not on the wrong way. Think about it for half a second. Look at the lines and follow where they go. The fuel filter must have the arrow point TOWARD the windshield. Trust us on this.

Bear in mind you've done a lot of stuff that may not be completely put back correctly. Now is not the time to be hasty and start jumping from one bad conclusion to another.

The muffler will have very little impact on how the car runs. You need to focus on the areas you fiddled with during the removal and reinstallation of the head.

What you describe sounds like either a bad exhaust leak or a bad boost leak, and quite possibly both. Did you get all of the exhaust manifold fire rings and gaskets back in place? Did you replace them with new? Are all of the studs in place correctly and properly torqued? Did you get the downpipe reinstalled correctly and properly torqued with new metal ring and flat gasket? Are all of the connection points at the turbo fastened and torqued correctly? Charge tube assembly properly installed, aligned and fastened down, including the lower charge tube bracket (was it even there to begin with???)? Proper valve clearances? Proper ignition timing and indexation of the ignition distributor?

Two more things:

Overheating problem sounds like improper bleed of the cooling system. Did you replace the water pump??? Hate to be pedantic, but you do have the water pump / alt belt replaced and properly tensioned?

Oil pressure sensor issue sounds like you either have the wires connected backwards, or they're touching and grounding out on the foil heat barrier material at the firewall.
