Hey Timmay (aka Tim) ,
I actually decided to keep the car and was able to get it started/running. It turns out the problem was simple...the ignition control unit had wiggled loose. It is a nice little car, and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead.
By the way to everyone else out there Timmay is one of the nicest guys around and really knows his stuff! I really enjoyed the chance to meet him. |

Excellent work, Peter. Now you can attend our gatherings here in San Diego.
We just had 20 944's at the shop on Saturday! Some cool...
Thanks for the nice comments. What can I say? I'm just a helpful, friendly kind of guy......but it works out anyway....
Let's get to work on selling your Saratoga top to help finance some other stuff.
I should get my 924 turbo up and running as well, huh? _________________ Current project 1981 931

Hi!
How common is it to find replacement DITC modules? Would it be good to pick one up if it is available as a precaution? _________________ 1981 931

Don't know how necessary that is - they seem to be pretty robust. I only have 1, the one that was in the car when I got it in '92, and presumably the same one the car was born with. -But spares in moderation can be a good thing. If you feel the need, check e-bay and/or the for sale section here. They generally go for roughly $50 used as I recall.. _________________ "..it's made in Germany.
