I think you meant to say that the RX7 looks like a 924... _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I wonder if a 924DP hood scoop might not look so darn obnoxious???
At any rate instead of spending money on the CGT conversion, I'm gonna work harder on getting the engine running perfect and decide from there. _________________ 1981 931 GT (CGT Intercooled)

A funny thing happened on my way to going stock...
I bought a 944 parts car that had just about everything I need to go Carrera GT. I'd been scouring craigslist and ebay since January for the right parts car that had the right combination of parts at the right price. Suddenly it appears, not a day ago and only an hour away. I told you that CGT intercooler wanted the body to go CGT to.
The Booty:
1. A staggered set of fuchs alloy rims, only the 15" versions but still 7" up front and 8" at the back.
2. A fully sanded hood, ready for the grafting of the CGT hood scoop. Plus I get the hood shocks and mounts so the hood won't have that lateral stress from hanging off the old single prop. It should now be possible to make the "CGT to hood" graft nice and flush with some jb weld and some patience and not fear that it'll crack when I open the hood. I'm gonna give it a try at least.
3. A good condition 944/CGT spoiler, she'll pop right on no problem.
4. 2 good fenders, ready for transplant
5. A 944 front valance that will tide me over just fine until I have the funds to get the CGT nose.
I still need to check the transmission on the very off chance its an LSD, the car was pretty well optioned when it was new so there's a chance. But even so, I've got most of the parts I need.
Plus once the fenders and hood are pulled, I'm gonna sell the car with the 924 fenders and the 15X7 ATS cookies I had in the back of the garage. It'll be real cheap to... like $250. Good as project, parts or base for a 944 spec racer.
So after all this, the CGT gods will have there way. I thank them heartily for over coming the large cost normally associated with creating a CGT clone.
Just need the rear flares now. _________________ 1981 931 GT (CGT Intercooled)

vexed,
The good news is my 6 X 15 early 911 cookie cutters plus Eagle GTs with 75% tread will be for sale shortly. Freshly bead blasted, primed and repainted with dupli-color silver wheel paint. A quick and easy way to upgrade the look of a 5 lug 924.
Can you tell I'm gonna need money for rear flares and paint. _________________ 1981 931 GT (CGT Intercooled)

If you're still around and want to sell the intercooler back, I'd buy it... Otherwise I'm on the search for another. _________________ Ryan Moone
