That doesn't just sound bad, it is a bad idea. The turbo engine is low compression and needs the turbo to function properly. If you removed it you wouldn't have a 924NA, you'd have a large riding lawn mower that couldn't cut grass.

What's up? Checked the fuel system pressures? Still fouling plugs? What's making you think you have a problem with the turbo? ...

Just frustration talking. Every time I work on the thing I just get it going and it fouls out, never have time to test everything. I wrote the last letter after I crawled under the car to check the oxygen sensor and found the PO had cut the wire. In fact the O2 sensor is there but no sign of the wire or where it comes from, so one more thing.

I also was checking out a 924 for sale near me, but it appears to be stolen. No title, no keys, pretty tore up but complete. But he wants $450 for it and I think that is to much so I am going to pour the $450 back into my car with renewed vigor in pursuit.

The other thing is I don't get much time to work on it, so I have to take a lot of deep breaths and have more patience. Rest assured, I will not destroy the car in order to make a large lawn mower that can't cut grass. I will make a check off list of things to verify and walk through it over the next few weeks. Will update as I progress.

Thanks to all.

Not much to worry about here. If the car has the lambda (o2 sensor) system, it will revert to a 50/50 duty cycle if the o2 sensor is disconnected. If the car doesn't have the lambda system, that part of the exhaust may have been replaced and the old o2 sensor was left to plug the opening. If it did come with lambda, you should find 2 aluminum boxes mounted below the steering column, one large control box and a smaller relay box next to it like this -
