|
|
Right now I'm running 225/60/15 rear and 215/60/15 right now on stock spiderwebs.
I just purchased some 16 inch phone dials now.. I think they are 16x7 and 16x8.
Not sure if the 8's will fit, but if not i will trade them for 7s.
I would just like your opinion on tie sizes. I'm thinking:
225/45/16 rear
215/45/16 front
? or is there a better combo? possibly 205/215 instead? My car is lowered front and rear, so if I have to roll the rear fenders, I will.
For actual tire brand I'm thinking maybe toyo proxes 4 or some falkens.. possibly fk452 or ziex ze 512 or aziens rt615(would be sweet). _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

Why's that?
*edit* The speedo is already off by a bit since the tires are lower profile than stock, the car is lowered, and I'm not very concerned with ride quality. I'd rather have some grip in the corners for once.
Anything is better than the dunlop a2's I got right now.. HORRIBLE tires.. I tore em auto-x'ing.. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

205/55/16 and 225/50/16 are stock Porsche circumference sizes. I would stick with them. There is a wide selection of tires in those sizes too, so you won't be limited. Plus you won't have to worry about the speedo.
The 7/8" phone dials should work fine. It's possible that you might need a small ~5mm spacer on the fronts. _________________ 1980 931S

I would go with 225 all around, or 225/235 F/R split. _________________ 3 928s, |

225s up front might be a bit of a workout in the parking lot. . . _________________ Toofah King Bad

HA,
I have 235/45ZR17 on the front of my 928 with the power steering pump disconnected and I have no issues at all with it.
if you cannot turn the wheel with 225 then I think you need to hit up the gym, _________________ 3 928s, |

Would it be out of line to go 205/50 and 225/45?
I'll have to look at some 205/55's and the 225/50's and see if I like how tall they are.. and check those against my 225/60/15 size. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

haha the 928 rack is close to the same ratio as the 924, but anyone who has tried to turn a PS rack without the car on knows it is harder than the same car with a manual rack.
and I doubt I will have any issues with the universals in the rack _________________ 3 928s, |

i was under the impression that the only 16 inch "phone dials" were the 86' 951 rims? in which case the offset would be 23mm. i'd be suprised if the 8 inch rears fitted even without using the stock 21mm spacer.
due to the limited availability of these rims it would be easy to sell/trade them for a good set of D90's or even 17inch cup's.
as far as width goes, i once ran 9 inch "silver rose" drop forged rims on the rear of my 932. i was also using 951 (86) alloy trailling arms (equivellent to running the steel arms WITH the spacer). these rims were 16x9 ET 60. they fitted perfectly. |
