Seriously, where should I start looking? I found AutoTrader.ca but the prices seem, um, high! Twelve thousand bucks for a 931?!
(Don't worry, I pay no attention to the prices... they'll take what I wanna pay )

Perhaps I should upgrade to a 924S? Still, I'd love another Turbo. And Kenodog won't sell me his...

Had a quick look there. Only two cars, NA's, and they were in the U.S.

Thanks jl924t.

It's the same here. I rarely see 924's on the road (and I mean rarely, like, I've seen two or three that I didn't know... ever!). I can't recall the last time I saw a Turbo, other than crunchie 57's and macBdog's (it's quite possible we have the only three Turbo's in Brisbane! ).

But strangely, they do pop-up regularly on ebay and in the Trading Post and such...

Not necessarily locally, granted. But I'd be willing to travel for the right car.

Have thought seriously about it on many occasions over the past couple years, as a replacement for my car. Still wouldn't say no, necessarily...

But the 924 has some anti-cool cool-type-thing goin' on. Hard to explain but I just love 'em. I imagine it's what Hippies feel like when they drive a Kombi...

The import duties to bring any Porsche from the US to Can as well as the paperwork and assorted taxes, levies and good 'ol BS from the customs broker is pretty painful. You'd be much better off to just buy one locally.A decent 951 can be had for as little as 10k Can. One that's MINT is only 15-18.
931's are few and far between tho,Sorry.Keep checking http://www.autotrader.ca/default.aspx and http://www.buysell.com/root/browsesub/9/554/2/2/Import_Cars.aspx for new listings. Or of course there's always http://www.weissach.com/ for your upper crust car porn.

Hey , what every happened to the NA free trade deal , or is that just the usual one way relationship the US has with the rest of the Planet.

NAFTA is a crock. Like most trade agreements made by the US with other counties, it turned out to be a one way agreement followed only by the US that allows products from other coutries in, while the other countries fail or refuse to comply with their half of the agreement and allow US products unincumbered access to their markets. Canadian Customs is one step removed from Japanese Customs. Stuff flowing from Canada to the US is no problem, with no import dutiy/tax in most cases. But the stuff going from the US to Canada is often taxed 50-100% of declared value. There is no hard and fast rule for when the Receiver in Canada is going to be hammered. This is why I stopped shipped stuff to Canada in most cases from my computer business years ago, not worth the aggravation of the clients who are upset how the ridiculous customs duties slapped on by their own government.

US spec, for the same reason that Canada stopped driving on the left side of the road.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you Gohim. If you want to see who's getting screwed by whom you should check out the US/Canadian dispute on softwood lumber.Despite ruling after ruling in a BINDING world court,ALL IN FAVOUR OF CANADA,the US still says we're just a bunch of cry babies to ask for the BILLIONS the US has illegally charged in tariffs. They say "No we won't give it back, and because we're bigger than you what do you think you can do about it ?" ( BTW most Canadians are in favor of shutting off the water and power we send south just to let you realize that if you want to play hardball we can too.(Except of course you guys would have a hard time playing anything without lights.)

The sad and really retarded thing about the whole dispute is that the only people profiting are the US lumber lobby. The average people in the States that buy a new house are now forced,by their own government,to pay on average $1500 extra per house.Even The Home Depot in the US has tried to talk sense to Washington on the consumers behalf, but to no avail.I geuss they vote Dem.

As concerning cars though the NAFTA only applies to products manufactured in either the US,Canda or Mexico. It does not apply to cars made in Germany or computer stuff that's probably from S.Korea or Japan, they are still eligible for duties.

They do the same to us. Every phone line in the US is subjected to a 3% monthly excise tax that was enacted in 1898 to fund the Spanish American War. Guess it's not over yet!

It has been in the courts for over 100 years....
