Should I keep my 924 or Sell it ?????

Its a 1978 Porsche 924. Like I said before it dosent run it has fuel injection problems. Its Guards Red and has 150k. The left front quarter panel is dented and when it did run it shifts funny from 3rd to 4th gear. Its been sitting since I got my 944 in April and I want to get my mind off my problems ( A girl I really like ditched me today to go back to her ex) Enough with my personal problems though. So that why I want to concentrate back on my 924. So should I keep it or Sell it ?????

Do you plan on growing old with it? Time to sell.

You could always ship it down to me in N.C., for free!
On the bright side, you didn't have to spend the $$$ saved for upgrades to deal with your ex wife!
Court with her next week, can't wait.

You got the 44 I dont know thats a tough call just depends if you are into doing something like getting it up. How do you feel after a good run with the 44 then look at the 24 ..what do you feel pity, not good, nostalgia
thats good. Best is to feel a out pouren warmth.. these cars are just beggen for it in so many ways ..people always ask me if mines fast
what do you tell them its.. what do you tell them. DOH. Its best to be able to ass hall up to a stop and stop pretty quicke hit first an go with it at the turn.

Keep it....an asset is an asset. It may just sit there but it is there when needed or when you have a better idea/plan for it's use. I feel you need to cheer up a bit before making a decision. Go find a girl worthy of your respect and turn her loose in the 924 as a gift then have a wonderful time!

I know easier said than done but saddness brings indecision and thoughts we otherwise may not think of. Get back on track then decide the best for you and the 924. PHDal

Depends.. how much is it gonna cost you to get it running nice, maybe not perfect, but just nice? It'll sell for a lot more in some kind of running order... it's an early 924, personally I'd be tempted to put some effort in if the end result will be worth it, my girl is in need of a bit of paintwork/rust removal work around the bottom edges, i'll get that done over this summer, she's just to pretty and too unusual around here. I've not seen a single other early 924 in this area (ie with the 4 speed box and exposed petrol filler cap etc)....

If you don't want/ can't fix it, sell it. If you one day may want to get a 924 back on the road, buy another one.

If you have the money and time to own both then do what you see fit. Both cost money. Knowing you I think you should sell the car and concentrate on the 944.

For a car with that many miles on it and not running you will not get more than a couple hundred for it. So.... question... is the 924 worth more than a couple hundred to you?

Mine is... but then again I am not selling my 1982.

Eric

Eric is right, you won't get much for it in that condition. If you part it out it's almost as much work stripping it as just fixing it. I guess it depends on your buget, and your mechanical ability. Frankly I say get it running and if you want to sell it then you'll get a better price. I have found with my 78 they are realitivy easy to work on and not that expensive. A running car always commands a better price than one you can't start at all. Make it driveable and then make your decision. Hell you could give it to your NEW girlfriend. Always remember this , when you're single and you loose a girlfriend your personal motto should be, NEXT!!!!
