Hi guys,
From my understanding, the wastegate diaphram is suspose to be air tight so that boosted air pressure will force open the wastegate. Therefore is it normal to have an air leak when I blow/suck into the control line (charge tube side) or can I then assume that my wastegate diaphram has a hole/tear? |

Yes, it should be air tight for the most part. If you can blow air into the waste gate tube, you most likely have a torn/worn waste gate diaphragm. I'm currently going through the same issue. From the looks of it, Andial has the best deal on the diaphragm. You have to call them to order the diaphragm.

Other indicators would be with it in operation, if you get more boost than you should, that could be due to a small hole in the diaphragm. A larger hole in it would give you unlimited boost that on hard accelleration triggers the overboost cutoff switch (if you still have it installed ) resulting in a very sudden decelleration.
If it's off the car or the engine is off and you blow air into the control line, it shouldn't be heard escaping.
In any case, also check the line itself. It's possible to have a leak there as well and have the same symptoms. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."
